You say, “WHAT???” Maples don’t flower!

Star Magnolia blossoms are harbingers of Spring, this one blooming in late March.
Some trees are known for their blossoms, like one of my favorites shown above, the Star Magnolia that was blooming yesterday.
Other trees have blossoms that are far less pronounced, even though you’ve probably noticed these “insignificant” blossoms, like the ones on Red Maple offspring seen below.
The final result of Maple flowers are more noticeable, seeds technically known as ‘Samaras’ — or what kids call ‘helicopters’ — since they spin all the way down to the ground.
