Vietnam War 1960’s Thanksgiving

During the Vietnam War, U.S. Army troops were treated to a special meal on Thanksgiving Day. Here we see a Thanksgiving menu from 1965 in Vietnam.

Many thanks to Bill Van Eck of the ‘Proud Americans’ 2/32 Artillery for sharing that 1965 Thanksgiving menu.

The Thanksgiving table was set at LZ Diamondhead in 1967, just months after the arrival of the 7/15 Field Artillery in the Republic of Vietnam. Thanks to Mike Donley for sharing these two photos.

Thanks to all our servicemen and women who continue to serve away from their homes and families on Thanksgiving Day.
