Our Bolt is Back!

General Motors completed their battery recall on our 2019 Chevy Bolt EV today.

By following all previous recall guidelines, that reduced the maximum battery charge level to 90% and then 80%, we never had any issues with our Bolt, other than having a slightly shorter driving range and charging more often.

Over 21,000 miles of driving, I’ve fallen in love with the Bolt’s snappy performance and nifty one-pedal driving of this energy efficient electric vehicle. As mentioned in previous blogs, like Sunny Outlook for Solar and Five Dollar Electric Bill, our Bolt dovetails perfectly with our home’s solar energy system. Goodbye gasoline stations!

Throughout the recall process, we received excellent service from our friends at Sun Chevrolet in McMurray, Pa. and General Motors was also very attentive to our ongoing recall situation, with weekly phone calls from a concierge.

Another big plus is that we now have a fresh 8 year / 100,000 mile battery warranty!
