Currently, much of the discussion around EV charging globally is focused on light duty vehicles and highway charging. While these are important topics, our transition to clean, electric mobility must also include medium- and heavy-duty vehicles like trucks.
Moderated by SFC, this panel brought together business leaders and experts in commercial fleet electrification to discuss the next steps in the electric revolution. Companies are starting to collaborate via different initiatives (e.g., Sustainable Freight Buyers Alliance) but need support from policymakers and other private sector entities to finance the exponential grow of electrified commercial fleets. The panel discussed how to shape collaborations to accelerate and help solve the business challenges behind reducing freight emissions in order to reach zero emissions by 2050 or earlier.
* This event is part of a series of events taking place at GCEAF to highlight ambition and action on the road to zero-emission transport. This workshop is co-organized by Smart Freight Centre, Charge Point, ICCT, CALSTART/Drive to Zero, Climate Group, Transport Decarbonisation Alliance (TDA)
