However, due to a slightly slower launch of cell and pack production than we expected, our plan is now to produce 400,000 EVs in North America over the course of 2022, 2023, and the first half of 2024,” CEO Mary Barra told investors Tuesday.

Electric Car FAQ: Your Questions Answered
We have spent countless hours driving, charging, and learning about all the things you need to know about the intricacies of electric cars. Use this advice to help guide your decision and the below jump links to get where you need to go fast.

By The Numbers: Comparing Electric Car Warranties
Those considering an electric car should be aware that automakers, by law, are required to add extended coverage for the battery pack, which is an EV’s most expensive component to replace should it fail or lose its ability to hold a sufficient charge. Minimum coverage is 8 years/100,000 miles, though a few brands include longer periods. Genesis, Hyundai, and Kia cover their EV batteries for 10 years/100,000 miles, while it’s 155,000 miles on the Mercedes-Benz EQS. EV’s sold in California are required to include battery coverage for 10 years or 150,000 miles.
