Be sure to visit the ornamental gardens in Silverton, Oregon!

One of our stops on a scenic drive through the Pacific Northwest was Silverton Oregon, at a series of display gardens created by the Oregon Association of Nurseries (OAN).

Groundbreaking for the Oregon Garden took place in 1997 while the grand opening celebration occurred 4 years later in 2001. Development of various other gardens took place over the years and included a groundbreaking for the Oregon Garden Resort in 2007. Other structures and amenities have been added in years since and it was well worth our stop for a garden tour.
These photos of The Oregon Garden were taken during the third week of September 2015 following a summer that was hotter and drier than usual.
