Washington Pennsylvania history

Washington, Pennsylvania was laid out in 1781 by John and William Hoge and was once the site of Indian Catfish Camp. An early National Road center rich in historic buildings and associations, the city was named for President George Washington. Boro charter in 1810, city in 1923.
